Hi! it's me again the one who ask you the Rochester reaction if Arthur and bernadine have a child, um as you can see this question just got into my head and I wonder if Arthur and bernadine have a child and it's a girl umm I wonder how the Rochester's treated Arthur and Bernie child especially it is a girl just curious and maybe I might ask about this again but with boy version but maybe next month if I remember about this and yes I'm obsessed with this ship haha
And no pressure to answer this I just want to get this out of my head
Hi again!
Hmmm… Good question! The treatment would vary by the family member, so let me think on how each of the Rochesters would act if Arthur and Bernadine had a daughter…
Horatio Rochester:
Horatio would believe that Bernadine's having a daughter was a waste since, despite having daughters himself, Horatio considers them less than men. So, until the girl displays a talent or skill that he deems valuable, Horatio probably makes no effort to be in the girl's life beyond family events.
Leopold Rochester:
He wouldn't care if his niece had a daughter or son; Leopold would simply be happy to have a new member of the family to love! He doesn't strike me as a man who believes women are inferior to men (at least not to the extent some of his relatives do), so he would see nothing wrong with the child being a girl. I imagine watching her grow up would often remind him of Bernadine when she was little, and seeing the girl do so many things her mother did at her age would always make Leopold happy. I bet he might have even saved some of Bernadine’s clothes, toys, and books from her childhood and passed them on to her daughter when she was old enough to enjoy and appreciate them, just as her mother had
Patricia Rochester:
I bet Patricia would adore it if Arthur and Bernadine had a daughter! Even if her mind isn’t what it used to be, seeing their daughter might remind her of her own and bring back happy memories of Clarissa as she was growing up. Whenever they visited Patricia, she would light up with joy and love spending time with the child, telling her stories and playing with her. After spending so much time suffering in darkness, the girl would be such a bright light in Patricia’s life.
Malcolm Rochester:
Malcolm would be in a similar group as Horatio; he thinks women are less than men, so he doesn't pay much attention to his niece. But given that Bernadine is his sister, he might be more present in the girl's life compared to Horatio. However, I can see him pressuring his niece to be the best and that anything less than perfect is a failure.
Veronica Rochester:
I feel like even though Veronica wouldn't be very interested in her sister-in-law's kids, if Bernadine and Arthur had a daughter, I think she might give her a little more attention than a son. Given that Veronica owns a very lucrative business in what I can only assume is a heavily male-dominated industry, she might be inclined to spend time with her niece to teach her not to let men walk all over her. It may not be for all the right reasons, but Veronica would be more open to a niece than a nephew.
Clarissa Rochester:
Even though we don't officially meet Clarissa, I think she would love for Bernadine and Arthur to have a daughter. Similar to Veronica, but with different beliefs, she seemed like the type of woman who encouraged other women not to let men dominate their lives. I could see Clarissa spending time with the girl whenever she could to teach her things society might consider “men's work.” I think Clarissa would be happy to have a new Rochester-born girl in the family to help balance out the family dynamics.
Rockley Rochester:
Rockley wouldn't care if his cousin had a daughter or son; he just enjoys making children happy with his chocolates and candies. So long as the girl has a sweet tooth, they'll get along great! He'd probably give her private tours of the factory and take her to work with him some days, sending her home with lots of sweets that would surely make Bernadine scold Rockley for getting her daughter high on sugar. But what kind of a fun, uncle-like cousin would he be if he didn't occasionally spoil her?
Larry Rochester:
Boy, girl, it wouldn't matter to Larry; he'd want NOTHING to do with the kid whatsoever! He probably would be like that sleazy drunk relative people avoid at reunions, making gross/annoying comments and being a general nuisance. The girl probably wouldn't know anything about Larry beyond him being a drunk who's never worked a day in his life and would rather go out partying than spend quality time with his family. She probably steered clear of him and likewise, Larry wouldn't go out of his way to talk to her.
Archie Rochester:
I think Archie would like it if his Aunt Bernadine had a daughter because I feel like the girl would remind him of his aunt, and he would feel a more natural connection to her than if Bernadine had a son. This is not to say that Archie wouldn’t connect with his aunt’s son, but I think it would be easier to connect with her daughter. I think Archie would want to treat the girl with love and compassion like Bernadine did for him. Like Leopold, he would see his aunt in her daughter and want to keep that spark shining bright and not let the more toxic Rochesters snuff it out. Of course, he’d make mistakes along the way, but he’d learn from them to set a good example for the girl. I believe Bernadine did something similar for Archie when he was growing up, being crushed under the weight of such high expectations from his parents, so he wants to thank her for helping him by being there for her daughter.
And… That’s all I’ve got! Hopefully, some of these didn’t go to OOC for some of the Rochesters, but overall, I think the majority of the Rochesters would enjoy having a new girl in the family, while some would prefer a boy. Man, I wish S4 was longer so I could give Arthur and Bernadine an OC child… I know I could still technically give them one even if they're just referenced in a future season or something, but it would be nice to write about those two as parents…
But I’m digressing. Thank you for the ask!✨

Ok so this is the first time Im asking you and it's okay if you can't answer I just want to know if Arthur and bernadine have a child after the events of motp how would the Rochester's family would react? This question is really not getting out on my head
I seen a au that all of them alive and have great life except some of them never change
But anyway thank you if you're gonna answer this^^
Welcome to your first ask on my blog! Thank you for sending it to me!🥰
Personally, I like to think Arthur and Bernadine had a child or children post-MotP. Even if they might be on the “older side” for having children, it's not impossible, and I think they would make good parents. Maybe a little overbearing, but they would love their kid(s) so much!
As for your question about how the other Rochesters would react, we’ll pretend these answers occur in an AU where they all lived long enough to meet the kid(s)!
Horatio Rochester: I don’t think he would care much. He wouldn't go out of his way to interact with the kid(s), but he would acknowledge their existence. Since Arthur is the Chief of The Flying Squad, he would tolerate Bernadine’s choice of husband even if Arthur isn’t as high class as the Rochesters. Likewise, he would consider the kid(s) lesser than other Rochesters because of their father’s background but would still see value in their existence.
(Let’s be real, do we honestly think Horatio cares about his family if they aren’t “useful” to him? I doubt future generations are exempt from this…)
Leopold Rochester: Leopold reminds me of parents/grandparents who considered all their children/grandchildren’s friends their own. So, he would absolutely adore Bernadine and Arthur’s kid(s)! He would babysit, include the kid(s) in family activities, give them the best gifts, and always make time for them.
Patricia Rochester: While Patricia’s mind may be far from what it used to be, she would still love the kid(s) in her own slightly strange way. I think of it like when dementia patients are given baby dolls and instantly remember how to care for them, helping their moods improve. I know Patricia doesn't have dementia, but for goodness' sake, let this woman have some happiness! She deserves it!
And while the kid(s) might not see her often or fully understand what happened to Patrcia’s mind until they are older, they would have fun visiting their great-aunt who gives them little gifts she makes or finds and tells the funniest stories! Even if they don't always make sense…
Malcolm Rochester: He would be similar to Horatio but not as extreme. While he wouldn’t be a doting uncle, he still sends the kid(s) birthday presents (usually money because he has no clue what kids like) and talks to them in public. But he wouldn't visit them for family dinners or things like that since he’s so focused on his political career. The kid(s) would see their Uncle Malcolm in the newspaper more often than they would see him in person.
Veronica Rochester: She’d be in a similar category to Malcolm but not as horrible. She’d still be distant from the kid(s), but they would see her more often than their uncle. I don’t see her as overly maternal, especially not towards kids who aren't her own, so she probably wouldn't acknowledge them beyond saying hello. She doesn't strike me as the overly affectionate type!
Clarissa Rochester: Since we never met Clarissa before her death, this might not be a perfect interpretation of her character. I feel she would be a middle ground between her relatives: she wouldn't be as distant as Horatio and Malcolm since we know she desires to be a mother through adoption despite her father’s disapproval, but I don’t know if she would be on the same level as Leopold since she’s still a busy businesswoman. But I think she would still adore Bernadine and Arthru’s kid(s), be a loving aunt figure for them, and host playdates for them with her kid (if she was able to adapt to this AU).
Rockley Rochester: Surprisingly, caring for and entertaining children comes somewhat naturally to Rockley. He’s no expert like his father, but kids don’t run away screaming after seeing him. When it comes to Bernadine and Arthur’s kid(s), Rockley will enjoy being around his first-cousin(s)-once-removed, them visiting his factory and giving them tours of the place while letting them test his newest chocolates and candies. He’d probably be a favourite relative of the kid(s) since he always has sweets on him specifically for them to enjoy.
(I hope I got the right type of cousin. I'm horrible at remembering how many-times-removed-cousins are by generations!😅)
Larry Rochester: Would want nothing to do with the kid(s), especially when their infant(s)/toddler(s). Larry hates kids and does everything he can to avoid being around them. It doesn't matter if their family. If they're a crying, snot-nosed kid, you can rest assured Larry will NOT be around them! Nor will you EVER catch him changing a soiled diaper!
Archie Rochester: In the presence of the rest of his family, Archie would keep his distance from his cousin(s). But when certain relatives weren't around, he would be more carefree and play with them. He loves his Aunt Bernadine, and her kid(s) would follow suit, even if Archie is awkward around children… However, in time, he’d learn how to act around his cousin(s) and let himself have fun without worrying about others judging him for being “immature.”
Some might be more accurate than others (I’m no Rochester expert), but I think my answers are pretty true to character!
Thank you for the ask! I hope you enjoyed my answers!😊
